Services
Editing
Reports, novels, advertisements: poor spelling and grammar will ruin them!
I offer structural editing, copyediting and proofreading, and can customise packages to suit your schedule and budget.
Structural editing
Structural editing is often the first stage of the editing process. This may include moving chapters or paragraphs to improve the flow of the work, and a written review of recommended changes. If you’re not quite ready for a structural edit, I also offer manuscript appraisals.
Copyediting
Copyediting follows structural editing and checks spelling, grammar, paragraph structure, tone and consistency. It may also include fact-checking and creation of a style guide.
Proofreading
Proofreading is the final stage of document editing and includes identifying and correcting minor spelling, grammar and layout issues.
Style guides
A style guide lists choices you have made about spelling, grammar and stylistic requirements of the work. This might include noting choices such as which words must always be capitalised or when to spell out numbers.

Appraisals
Appraisals are a written summary of the strengths, weaknesses and opportunities within your work. The honest, constructive feedback will help you revise (or revitalise!) your project and set it up for success. I understand that sharing your project may be scary, but don’t worry – all services are confidential.
All appraisals include a thirty minute phone consultation to discuss your work and what is required.
A fiction appraisal will cover topics such as plot, characterisation, point of view and setting.
A business and professional communications appraisal may include reviewing websites, templates and style guides to ensure consistency and coherency.
Comma Corner can also produce a style guide for your project or business that will ensure future work is consistent.
Appraisals are highly customisable and I can work to your budget.

All resume, cover letter and selection criteria jobs include a phone consultation, incorporate client feedback and a follow-up phone call before documents are finalised.

Resume options
A general resume is one you can tailor for future applications, and is often requested by recent graduates who are seeking their first full time or industry-specific role. Comma Corner provides detailed guidance on how to tailor your resume for specific roles. Prices start at $200 for general resumes.
A custom resume is created in response to a specific role. Comma Corner provides detailed guidance on how to edit your custom resume so that it is suitable for other applications in similar fields if needed. Prices start at $250 for custom resumes.
All services are individually quoted, and we can work to your budget.
Some advertisements may request a Curriculum Vitae (CV). Although a CV is technically different from a resume, the terms are often used interchangeably. I can also assist with preparing CVs, and the process and pricing is the same as resumes.
Cover letters
Cover letters should be tailored for individual job applications, but we can also assist with creating a cover letter template that you can adapt for multiple applications within the same field.
I create cover letters that showcase your skills and show companies the value you could bring to them. All cover letter clients also receive a document with instructions on how to tweak the letter for future applications.
Cover letter pricing is determined by complexity and length.
Selection Criteria
Selection criteria are often highly specific, personal questions written in response to a specific job advertisement. Short response (up to 200 words) pricing begins at $30 per response, and rates increase for longer and more complex responses.
